The workshop is the heart of Turners Cycles. We are confident that our bike servicing and repairs are amongst the best available. All work is carried out by myself to the highest standard, I am an experienced and qualified Cytech mechanic.
Due to popular demand our workshop can be very busy. We aim to turn around small 'trouble shooting' jobs as quickly as possible. More complex work and servicing will need to be booked into the diary, please email us to book your bikes in.
When you bring your bike to the shop we will have a chat and establish what work is required and what work you would like done...
We offer a range of service options:
Bronze service - £49
Silver service - £89
Gold service - £179 or £199*
Other work and trouble shooting at hourly rate - £48 / hour**
*Some bikes with internal cabling, disc brakes and various levels of integration require more workshop time. This has led us to have two price points for our services, this allows us to offer the best value alongside the best workmanship.
**For very small jobs, we carry a 15 minute £12 minimum charge.
Bronze Service - £49
An interim service for peace of mind to make sure your bike is running as it should, smoothly and safely. It includes:
- Tune gears.
- Tune brakes.
- Lubricate components.
- Check + adjust wheel bearings.
- Check + adjust bottom bracket.
- Check + adjust
headset / stem.
- Inspect chain for wear.
- Inspect cassette for wear.
- Inspect chainset for wear.
- Inspect cable inner and outers.
- Inspect frame frame.
- Remove + grease seat post.
- Check
wheel condition.
- Carry out minor truing work.
- Check + adjust tyre pressures.
- Check pedals for wear.
- Check all accessories are secure.
This service includes labour, oils and greases but does not include the fitting of any parts. If any new parts require fitting we will upgrade to a Silver service. This service does not include bearing replacement, suspension servicing or bleeding hydraulic brakes.
Silver Service - £89
A very comprehensive service, recommended at least annually depending on mileage, this service is designed to keep things running smoothly and safely, it addresses general wear and it includes the labour cost of fitting new parts as required including drivetrain, pads and cables. It does not include bearing servicing or hydraulic brake bleeding, these can easily be added. It includes:
- Tune gears
- Clean, adjust, reset brakes.
- Replace brake pads if required.
- Lubricate all components.
- Check + adjust wheel bearings.
- Check + adjust bottom bracket.
- Check + adjust headset / stem.
- Inspect chain for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect cassette for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect chainset for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect cables + replace if necessary.
- Inspect frame.
- Remove + grease seat post.
- Check wheel condition.
- Precision true wheels in jig.
- Check + adjust tyre pressures.
- Fit new tyres / tubes if required.
- Check pedals for wear.
- Check all accessories are secure.
This service includes the labour for servicing and fitting most parts but does not include the cost of the parts themselves. This service does not include bearing replacement, suspension servicing or bleeding hydraulic brakes.
Gold Service - £179 or £199*
Recommended every 1 – 3 years depending on bike use, this service is the full package. It is designed to maintain your bikes bearings, components, reduce wear and make things run smoothly and safely. We'll aim to get your bike riding like new, maybe even better! It includes:
- Tune gears
- Clean, adjust, reset brakes.
- Replace brake pads if required.
- Lubricate all components.
- Inspect chain for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect cassette for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect chainset for wear + replace if necessary.
- Inspect cables + replace if necessary.
- Inspect frame.
- Remove + grease seat post.
- Check wheel condition.
- Precision true wheels in jig.
- Check + adjust tyre pressures.
- Fit new tyres / tubes if required.
- Check pedals for wear.
- Check all accessories are secure.
- Service wheel bearings.
- Service bottom bracket bearings.
- Service headset bearings.
- Bleed hydraulic brakes if required.

Repairs and other work at an Hourly rate.
We are always flexible with your servicing needs. If your not looking for a Bronze, Silver or Gold service we offer trouble shooting, repairs, adjustments, component fitting, bike builds and groupset swaps charged at £48 per hour. We are very happy to offer an estimate on these jobs.
If the work is not whole hours it will be broken down into 1/4 hr, 1/2 hour, 3/4 hour slots. ( For example 1/2 hour = £24, 3/4 hour = £36 ). For very small jobs we carry a 15 minute, £12 minimum charge.
