Bike Fitting Service...

Why have a bike fit?

The benefits that can be gained from a bike fitting are numerous. A bike fit can improve comfort, bike handling, endurance and performance. A poorly fitted bike can lead to discomfort, injury, numbness, fatigue, poor performance and even stop a rider from riding altogether.

I see many bikes come through the workshop that are poorly fitted. I am really keen for riders to get the most out of their cycling experience. A bike that is well fitted can bring more joy and bigger performance gains than a new bike or wheel upgrade at a fraction of the cost.

Over the past 10 years we have guided and advised customers on their ride positions. Three years ago we rolled out a comprehensive bike fitting service with great feedback from our customers.

Whats involved?

When you book a bike fit you will be booking a one to one consultation and bike fitting with Ben. It normally takes 2-3 hrs, you will need to bring along your bike, cycling shorts and cycling shoes.

We will have a chat about your cycling and why you are having a bike fit, we will take some time to do body measurements and transfer these to the bike. We will move onto a dynamic bike fit on an indoor trainer where we take further measuremnents, do visual checks and listen to feedback from yourself. During this process we make adjustments to your bike, continually re-measuring body angles and visually monitering your ride position. We are confident that by the end of the fit we will have achieved a successful bike fit with your goals in mind.

After the bike fitting we will write up your notes and email them to you. We then look forward to hearing how you get on in the real world; out on the road. We will assist you with small tweaks and adjustments to your bike fit based upon real world feedback. Once we have tuned your fit, the measurments can easily be transfered onto other bikes you own.

How much does it cost?

A bike fit at Turners Cycles is £169. This covers the bike fitting session and any adjustments carried out during the session as well as your bike fitting notes in email form.

We are not in the habit of selling you lots of bike parts during the fit but sometimes it is necessary to change a component such as a handlebar stem or saddle to achieve the best possible fit. This will be discussed with you during the fit and with your agreement. Most of this can be done during the fit session, if not there may be a workshop charge for more complex work, for example swapping fully integrated handlebars.

How do I book?
